Poem : To Medha

This poem is dedicated to Medha - a mystic-beautiful photographer I met at Prithvi Theater, Mumbai.

Like a flash, you came into my life
Not once, but twice.
For sure, I am the biggest fool
as I did not capture you.
Made no arrangements
so that I can even trace you.
So stupid of me.
Looks like I have lost you.

I remember the time
When I asked you “Are you fine?”
When you were in a bit of turmoil
as you cut your finger with Orbit Chewing-gum’s foil.
And I remember the time,
Again next day, you were standing just in front of me in the line.
And I gave you five as I was so happy to see you.
You talk so sweetly. How can I forget you?
And just when I was about to ask your phone number,
that guy came between us. He is your friend or your brother?
I observed both of you closely and I did understand
that definitely he was not you boyfriend.
I kept staring at you during the Gazal session.
And two people sitting between us - my aversion.
You are so beautiful and there is something mystic about you
And that’s why I am thinking a lot about you.

And when for the last time
I was walking towards you and your friend/brother.
I was relieved to see
the distance between both of you was half a meter.

And when you passed by me
I wanted time to stop.
But, it did not.
I wanted you to stop.
But, you did not.
Why will you?
I wanted to stop you.
But, I did not.
How can I?

And with the heavy steps
I passed by you completely and turned around.
So did you. Only to say good bye
with you hand raised, fluttering fingers and your beautiful smile.

Just hoping that
we “ll meet somewhere
and that’s why have put this poem
on the notice board of Prithvi Theatre.

----------------------------------------

So, I addressed this poem to Medha and put it on the notice board of Prithvi Theater. After 2 hours, I got a call from Theater saying that I can't put my personnel messages on notice board. And then, I came to Delhi. How unfortunate. :(
